The School of Civil Engineering and Geosciences is seeking to appoint a Professor of Geospatial Systems Engineering, as part of the new £2m ‘Spatial Analysis and Modelling at Newcastle’ (SAM@NEWCASTLE) initiative.  Sitting alongside three other simultaneous Chair appointments, this exciting new post will be responsible for developing ‘whole’ systems spatial analytical approaches to tackle large scale complex integrated social-natural-engineered applications, and will lead and develop spatial analysis and GIS research within the School’s world-leading geomatics research group.  The successful candidate will be an individual of international reputation and standing with an excellent track record of globally recognised publication, high quality research income generation and engagement with and impact upon industry and policy.  Supported by a three-year Post-Doctoral Research Associate, the post offers a unique opportunity to undertake leading edge research.
